THE MASK PROJECT. Paris - Berlin - Dedougou.

The Mask Project // Paris Berlin Dedougou was created to initiate a new way of dealing with mask cultures. Concurrently with the FESTIMA, the International Mask Festival (Dédougou, Burkina Faso ), events will be held in Paris, Berlin and Dedougou. The goal of the project is more to experience that to study through perfomances, présentations, concert, worshops, DJ-set, video program and photo exhibition.
In Berlin, the Mask Project will focus on the future of mask cultures. Artists are using new mediums, from street art to high tech robots. How can these new ways to make art push further the boundaries of mask cultures?
In Paris, the Mask Collective will focus on the mask in theater and dance. Discover the mask cultures from around the world, meet with the people that imagine, create and wear masks today or take part in workshops.
In Dédougou, The Mask Collective will have a stand during the International Mask Festival (FESTIMA).What were the influences of African art on the European art? Change of perspective and discover mask cultures from Europe.
