THE MAKING OF PULSE Documentary - TransPoetico Production in Kuala Lumpur

Manifesto Poetico team members Carlos García Estévez, Paige Allerton and Paulo Serantes traveled to Kuala Lumpur this May to create and direct a show with an interdisciplinary group of local artists. The performance premiered in July at the Damansara International Arts Festival.

PULSE was one of Manifesto Poetico's TransPoetico Productions commissioned by the Damansara International Arts Festival 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This TransPoetico Production was a journey through the beats of daily life in Kuala Lumpur; a story of love, loss and transformation, where the personal is political.

Poetic and contemporary, this performance was inspired by local stories that could be recognized globally. In this show there was an abstract scenography in movement to create a new 3-Dimensional experience for the audience without any technology - A new Theatrical language for the public of Kuala Lumpur. Pulse: contemporary theatre supported by live music, and storytelling to capture the daily life and ordinary stories of us all….
